 M&G
Oyster Supplies Pty Ltd t/as M&G Seafood Wholesalers was established
in 1969 and focused its resources at the time purely in the oyster
industry. Due to the quality and consistency of operations there
was a demand to expand into fresh and frozen seafood.
A Key element of the success of the M&G Seafood group over the
years has been our commitment to provide our clients with the best
seafood available in the industry. We pride ourselves on the high
quality seafood we supply, which is sourced from only the cleanest
waters.
M&G are the largest processor and distributor of oysters in
NSW Australia, processing approximately 20,000 dozen oysters per
week. We are reliable and a proven leader in processing and distribution
to the most discerning clients.
Sydney Fish Market Depot
- Wholesale
At the Sydney Fish Markets we act as wholesalers to retailers and
distributors focusing on the national market. Due to our prominent
involvement in the national distribution network, M&G have become
shareholders in the Sydney Fish Market. This enables us to contribute
to the direction in which the Sydney Fish Market operates.
Marrickville – Head
Office/Distribution
Our processing and operating plant is located in Marrickville. It
is here that we ensure we meet the highest standard for quality,
freshness, nutrition, and meet customer requirements and specifications.
Special selection techniques are applied at all times in the initial
stages of choosing new materials, whilst the highest quality control
standards are enforced throughout the production process.
We welcome any of our valued customers to come and visit our premises,
to share with us our commitment to supply only the best in fresh
and frozen seafood. We examine all products on arrival, hence we
can confidently say that we can guarantee premium quality. We process,
pack and deliver fresh and frozen quality seafood to internationally
accredited standards "HAACP"
 Van
Dieman Seafoods Pty Ltd
The M&G group has become one of the leaders in the lobster distribution
network via our own lobster-processing factory in Tasmania, Van
Dieman Seafoods Pty Limited.
Van Dieman primarily operates as a lobster processing company therefore
ensuring constant supply in live and cooked lobster, for both Australian
and export markets.
The increasing demand for a high quality lobster within the industry
led us to acquire our own processing plant and trawlers, ensuring
that M&G has total control of costs, supply, and standards.
This allows us to supply a superior product at competitive prices.
Quality Assurance System
In addition to its reputation for high-quality seafood and service,
M&G Seafood Wholesalers have established themselves as a leader
in good food handling. In 1999 the company undertook a Quality Assurance
HACCP programme, in an effort to ensure and continue to offer superior
quality seafood to their customers.
The HACCP system was developed over a period of 12 months, M&G Seafood
Wholesalers was officially certified as a quality endorsed company.
SGS - HACCP QUALITY ASSURANCE SERVICE Lic No. FS 636/02. As part
of the comprehensive training, staff receive basic theory and operational
training.
M&G Seafood Wholesalers complies with all current food service regulations,
including the Occupational Health and Safety Act. AQIS accreditation
for all our export customers, HACCP - QUALITY ASSURANCE, SAFE FOOD
AUTHORITIES.
Ongoing Training and Development
M&G Seafood Wholesalers philosophy is that successful businesses
are built on a foundation of well trained operational and management
staff.
A detailed and comprehensive training program has been developed,
covering employee recruitment, sales techniques, required product
knowledge, seafood handling, importance of temperature controls,
which lies parallel to seafood storage, a thorough look at customer
service, the ordering system, display lay-out and presentation and
most importantly, the finer points of maintaining good customer
relations that are essential in securing continual growth of new
business.
